Tim Friesen, Camp Administrator
Tim Friesen became Administrator in August of 2013. Tim is most recently from Omaha, Nebraska where he worked for ConAgra Foods conducting food safety validation tests in the thermal processing department (canning). Before that Tim worked for Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) as a meat canner operator and later as Canning Coordinator where he oversaw the canning operations, supported the host communities and canner operators and lead international trips to sites where MCC was located. Tim brings gifts in development and has a heart for service. He is married to Karla Friesen who is originally from the Pulaski area. Contact Tim Here!
Julie Bontrager, Administrative Assistant
Julie began her position in July of 2001. Staying on top of all the reservations and program registrations and providing support for all the other camp operations is a huge task, but one that she enjoys! Hers is the voice that you will likely hear when you call the camp office to reserve a facility or receive information on any of our programs. Contact Julie Here!
Gay Widmer, Maintenance Director
Most folks notice right away how well the grounds and buildings are maintained. That is because Gay is a very meticulous groundskeeper! You might find him mowing, maintaining the lane, fixing the occasional break or building something in his shop. He's our "go-to guy"; if you need it-- he can build it! Gay has been sharing his wealth of knowledge and gifts with the camp since 1999.
Gloria Widmer, Head Housekeeper
You can't operate a camp like ours without some behind-the-scenes assistance! Gloria's attention to detail makes our facilities some of the finest around. (It also helps that she's married to our maintenance director!) If you talk to any of her 'crew', you will find that she makes housekeeping one of the most fun jobs at camp! But don't kid yourself, she knows exactly how many toilets there are to clean; and she's been cleaning them since 2000!
Brenda Jenkins, Food Service Manager
We're excited to continue our great tradition of delicious food and excellent service with Brenda! She has worked in the local school kitchen as the main course cook for several years and previously was a daycare provider and preschool teacher. She is looking forward to working in a Christian environment where faith is something that is encouraged to be lived out. Get excited, because she loves trying out new recipes--especially desserts!
Megan Miller, Program Director
Born and raised in southeast Iowa, Megan has a long history with us as both camper and counselor. She holds a degree in Biblical and Theological Studies from Canadian Mennonite University. The seeds of camping ministry that were planted years ago took root, and when the opportunity became available in the fall of 2013 she was excited to join our ministry. There is not a more refined nor steadfast group of people than the staff at Crooked Creek Christian Camp. This is a group of people that take their job very seriously. The focus, dedication and determination of these fine folks is second to none. None of them would ever consider hiding a rubber snake to surprise one of their co-workers...Seriously, these folks are committed to making sure that all guests have a wonderful time enjoying the beautiful setting of camp.
We work hard, but we like to goof around, too. Come see us, we'd love to have you here!
