Summer Staff Reunion

Each December, the summer staff gathers at Mary Lou's for food, fellowship, fun and general merry making!  There is much catching-up to do and pictures to see.  Here, some staff members pose with Mary Lou.  They are nothing if not very attractive!

Senior Day 2006

Senior Day was held for the retired set on October 4, 2006.  The program included a presentation by Dwight Seegmiller on Country Schools, reminiscing about "good ol' school days", and a flashback to a Country School Program with skits and songs.  Of course, the traditional potluck was enjoyed by all who came!

Dwight Seegmiller gave an informative presentation on country schools.

The program was played to a full house. Here, some of the guests listen to the featured speakers.

A country school wouldn't be complete without some nasty boy shooting spitwads! His partner in crime looks on...

Some of the presenters reminisced about their days in country school--either as an attender or as a teacher.

Skits, songs, and stories were shared from old country school programs. On Program night, the students got to share what they had been learning and had some fun along the way.

Summer Camp 2006

And here is your Summer Staff 2006!  A finer group of people you won't easily find.  These caring young people have a heart for Jesus, concern for kids, a love of camp, and a knack for making merry!

Our staffers come from all over the United States but many are former summer campers.  Lead counselors must be at least 18 years of age, but an assistant counselor can be 16.  We have a thorough screening process to make certain that our campers will enjoy a loving, safe environment in which to learn more about God and themselves.

Camp Happenings

The Prayer Labyrinth was placed at camp by a family of a former summer staffer who was killed in a car accident on her way to school her senior year.  The Labyrinth, described on another page of this website, is simply a tool for physically entering into prayer.  It is located in a quiet area for privacy.

The family of Gretchen Piper upon completion of the labyrinth.

The path to the Labyrinth is clearly marked.

At the center have been placed log benches in order to provide a space for reflection.

The Labyrinth can be used privately, or by a small group.
